Snow Day

Hello, Hello!

We had quite the winter storm hit C-Town today, causing many of us to re-live our childhood days of "No School Snow Days". After being sent home from work, I went straight for my sewing machine and constructed this chevron paper bag skirt:

Here is a little sneak peak at the fabric I am using for my next two projects!

I pray for more productive sewing snow days!

Happpy Monday!

This wonderful 3-day weekend gave my boyfriend and I the excuse to do lots of fun non-school related things. We squeezed in a few date nights, a trip to a giant antique mall in the heart of Ohio, and an expensive trip to Hancock fabrics for their massive weekend sale (don't worry, I bought Zach dinner after making him suffer through an hour in this store).
Here are my picks from the antique mall (I was in heaven!)

And here are Zach's picks:

Since we all know I'm a little obsessed with clothes, here are my date night outfits:

Finally, here are my favorite purchases from Hancock's...I'm antsy to get started on these!

The amazing adventures of Hallie and Bri

Oh Hello!
My roommate, Hallie, and I decided to go on a little excursion to Oregon District this afternoon. Fall leaves, brick roads and vintage shops = happy girls.

I'm Baack!

Long time no sew! So with school being back in full swing, I have not had the time I would like to sew, BUT I finally got the chance to take some real sewing classes for the first time. I learned so many little tips and tricks that I would have never been able to figure out on my own. I took classes with Tracy at Sew Dayton and am happy to present to you my first official "big girl" piece of clothing! It took 4 hours, 14 pieces of fabric, a zipper and lots of patience but I did it :)

Also, I even had time to embellish a cute little mint colored cardigan with my favorite: lace and pearls:

New and improved zipper pouch

It's been a long time since I've had the time to sit down and sew! For my sister's birthday, I made her this zipper pouch and filled it with a variety of purse necessities such as gum, hand sanitizer, nail clippers and filer, bobby pins, mini hairspray and much more! here is the finished product

Clothespin Holder

I finally had time to sew again just in time for Mother's Day! Here is a handy little clothespin holder I whipped up using my own pattern :)
